What We Do

We are a Service Organization and are active in programs related to Church, Community, promoting Family, Youth, Vocations, and in supporting fellow members in our Council. Our council has been awarded for our work in the Keep Christ in Christmas Campaign.

Pancake Breakfast

These breakfasts are our major fund raising activities. We try to schedule several of these each year. Funds from these breakfasts have gone to the following charities:

  • Support and donate to PREPARES, a volunteer-run program offering meaningful, local, and unconditional support to mothers, fathers, and families as they nurture their children through pregnancy and early childhood.
  • Angelorum, Next Step Pregnancy Services
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society
  • Holy Family School development fund
  • Parish Youth Group Missions
  • Holy Family School Drama Club
  • Supporting two Seminarians each year
  • The Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids Program at HFK

Crab Feed

This event is usually scheduled on the last Saturday in January each year. While the profit from it helps to fund our two Seminarians, supporting our Holy Family Youth Group, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and Next Step Pregnancy Services (formerly Angelorum), it is more of a paraish social activity in which the Knights donate several hours towards this popular social event.

Holy Family Fish Dinners

Our Council initiated our first Holy Family Fish Dinner during Lent in 2011 and we raised over $1000 that was used to help purchase an ultra sound machine that was then donated to a Pregnancy Service in Washington State. Since then, we have raised funds to support our local
Boy Scout Troop based at Holy Family Church for their Eagle Scout Program and the HFK Youth Program for their Annual Missions.

Pennies for Heaven

You may have seen our Pennies for Heaven Barrel. Contributions deposited in this barrel go to support vocations to the priesthood in the State of Washington.

Other Parish Activities

  • Donated over 650 winter jackets for kids as part of our “Coats for Kids” program. The chief beneficiaries of this program are families of soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord and children staying at New Bethlehem House in Kirkland WA. Our Council worked in conjunction with our local Knights Assembly and the Respect Life Group at Holy Family Parish to raise substantial funds for this program from our Pancake Breakfast’s and Hoagy Cheese Steak Sub sales.
  • Provide over 800 carnations or prayer cards to the women of the parish on Mothers Day.
  • Provide Ushers at Saturday/Sunday masses and support the usher program which is open
to both men and women of the parish.
  • Sponsor a Respect Life Poster/ Essay contest for the 7th and 8th grade classes of Holy
    Family School.
  • Provide cooks for the Annual Parish Picnic.

Fun Stuff

While we do have a good time working on the various parish activities, we do take some time to have fun in a variety of activities and events.

  • A free steak dinner for all our members in June at which time we review our last year’s programs and prepare for the new year’s activities while also renewing our friendships.
  • Host a Christmas Party for all our members and their families and have a prime rib dinner, sing Christmas carols and try to Keep Christ in Christmas!
